Arts Entrepreneurship: Careers and Cultural Organizations
When? Thursday, Nov. 18, 4-5 PM,
Where? Curtin Special Events Room, in the Campus Center at Le Moyne College
Three Syracuse arts and cultural entrepreneurs will share their professional experiences and discuss the challenges of keeping arts organizations financially afloat:
1-Carol Charles, of the One Village Dance Centre and Community Folk Art Center.
2-Dik Cool, founder and director of the Syracuse Cultural Workers progressive arts publishing house.
3- Steven Kern, director of the Everson Museum.
Following the individual presentations, there will be a break-out session so that audience members can join one of the speakers in a smaller group discussion, followed by a final question-and-answer large group session. This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the possibilities and challenges of working in the business of the arts.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Center for Urban and Regional Applied Research, the Marion Ewing Kauffman Foundation, and the Economics Club. For more information, contact Caroline Tauxe at tauxecs@lemoyne.edu
We hope to see you there!
