TH3: A City-Wide Art Open

This month’s TH3 is this Thursday, November 17!

What: Third Thursday, City wide Art Open
Where: 21 Venues in Syracuse, NY (For a list of the venues click here)
Cost: Free!

“The mission of Th3 is to promote the arts to the public through establishing a common monthly date and time when the public can visit, at no charge, participating Syracuse area venues whose primary focus is visual arts or culture and to promote sharing and cooperation among those visual arts and cultural venues. This ambitious project was initiated by the Everson Museum of Art and the Delavan Art Gallery. Th3 establishes Syracuse as a city for the arts in this initiative to reach out its local and regional communities. Venues may present special programming on Th3 evenings, including show openings and receptions.”

New Formula!

Last night I wandered over to Little Italy in Syracuse to attend the opening reception of New Formula and Craft Chemistry’s one year celebration. The air was chilly, the people welcoming and the art, wonderfully fun. The pulling of a string, and popcorn shot out of a box. Little secret spaces were contained within the interactive installation piece. One in particular, housed a hand made out of popsicle sticks and was surrounded by lights, whose dewey glow within the box made it look like a night sky. Sadly, I showed up just after The David Wax Museum played a set, so I can’t really comment on the music portion but I heard it was a great performance. Overall, I think it was great event and I rather enjoyed it. Great space, great people. Happy Birthday C2!
