Hello! CNY Arts Covenant Signers, Supporters of the Arts and Potential Members of the CNY Arts Covenant Community

Original art, great cultural and artistic experiences await you!

The CNY Arts Covenant is re-energized. We need you on board.

Here’s what’s new:

1. YOUR REWARD made easy! We’ve set up an easy way to redeem your reward (a small original piece of art OR an Arts Covenant T-shirt) for completing your four arts covenant agreements. Go to the CNY Artists Gallery at Shoppingtown Mall on Erie Blvd. in Syracuse after December 1st, 2011 . The Gallery is right near the Food Court. Ask the Salesperson for an Arts Covenant completion form when you arrive. Fill it out, give it to the Salesperson and S/he will give you your reward. While you are there, look around, enjoy the broad range of arts and crafts created by CNY artists and crafters and maybe you’ll find a gift you need or something YOU like for yourself.

2. ART ALERTS. We have a fine new Intern from Syracuse University’s Graduate Museum Studies Program. Her name is Mengya He. She is from Beijing and loves the arts. She’s interned at the Albright Knox in Buffalo and other galleries in CNY.

She will be sending you lists of arts and cultural events that are coming up in CNY. They will be organized by the four Arts Covenant agreements so that you can easily find ways to complete your Arts Covenant agreements. And even if you have completed them, you’ll learn about great opportunities to “take part in art” in Syracuse and CNY.

3. SOCIAL MEDIA. Mengya is also revitalizing our social media and the CNY Arts Covenant Webpage. CNY Arts Covenant Facebook will become more useful in alerting Arts Covenant Friends of art and cultural events and perhaps stimulating arts conversations. Mengya will also be Twittering the arts.

4. ARTY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES with the Arts Covenant. We need to reach more people willing to commit themselves to supporting the arts through the Arts Covenant. If you would like to help with outreach and quilt signings PLEASE let us know at artscov@gmail.com. This is FUN. Lots of paint and mess and laughter.

Thanks again for your on-going support of the arts and culture in CNY. In tough times, the arts, artists and cultural organizations need our support more than ever. The arts keep our CNY alive, creative, and thoughtful. The arts help us understand the dynamic vitality and diversity of the peoples and communities in our region AND they contribute to community and economic development.

Thanks again!

The CNY Arts Covenant
